Cover Draft - 1

The Cover

The mast head of this page will be 'Darken Tech' this is because I chose to use my ideas on my first mind map. So with following this mind map, I came up with this idea for a cover.

The selling line will be small, and will be found above the masthead. This is done like in other magazines. But did it this way because it the first thing that you will look at when you see my magazine will most likely be the main image, but the second thing that you will see most likely is the masthead and once you have finished reading that your eye will be drawn to the selling line, this is because of the way that it is placed so close to the masthead, and it will be the decider to weather you want to read the magazine or not.

Cover line 1 is going to be about downloads. This will be the top from all genres of music, and on the page of the article, it will have smaller download lists of specific genres. this will be for people that don't want to hear about some genres of music.

Cover line 2 is going to be about what the magazine offers. But I am not that sure on what that will be so far.

Cover line 3 is going to be about some Gothic music. This will be done so that it goes with the underline Gothic feel of the magazine. This will also show the mixed genres that can be found inside the magazine, because as the Gothic side of the magazine is an undertone it shouldn't stand out that much but, the two surface genres will be covered by the cover line. So that you can see that there is more to it than just Techno, Nightcore, and that there is some Gothic just in the cover. Cover line 1 helps with this as well.

The main cover line at the bottom of the page will be about the upcoming band. This is on about the small band (me and two friends) that are used in the main image of the cover and is going to be the article on my double page spread. Because I want the magazine to show that it is all about keeping up with the latest stories.

For the main image, there will be three people. One of them will have their face completely covered by their hair. They will be looking at their violin, and standing to the left of the others.  The second will be in the middle of them, and they will be looking at their guitar. And lasted but not least, on the right hand side there will be someone staring at the reader and holding a microphone.

The bar code, date line and the price are all in the bottom left hand corner. The price will be somewhere around £1.60 this is because it is nice and cheap so that my target audience will be happy to buy it, as they can still keep up with their on lives and still have the money to keep up their life style.
